Expiry is the cost most pharmacies absorb quietly
Stock written off at expiry rarely appears as a line anyone reviews. It leaves as a bin bag and shows up later as a margin that does not add up.
Tracking at batch level rather than product level changes what you can see. You know which batch came in, how much of it went out, what is left, and how long it has. Slow-moving batches surface while a supplier return or a transfer to a busier branch is still possible.
